The Wrench

The Wrench is a solid old biker guy who has been helping us all along getting the xs ready and soon my ironhead done. He's in a ton of these pics plugging away at the next problem to overcome, always in a good mood and never bitches. He always shows up wearing his trademark chaps, has a shit ton of tattoos that weren't done in any legit shop, back in the day stories out the ass and has a smoke constantly going. Good guy, Solid dude.
Here is a couple pics of his honey, his 73 Ironhead, built by himself from the ground up with tons of tiny details that are totally him like the .50 cal shells, bullet casings,  skulls and flames, it all screams "the wrench". The pictures don't really do it justice, much like the ones of the guy himself.

It's a wrap

Kristen got the wrap on and smokin... bike sounds better and looks sweet.

Loading up on carbs

Kristen got a shit load of last minute stuff for the XS, new oil filters, carb set up, mini speedo etc etc etc, just waitin on a throttle and it's good to go.

Blastin pipes

Took the exhaust pipes off, gave them a quick sandblast, painted them up with some high temp exhaust paint and will wrap them up tomorrow with some cool gold (ish) header tape.

Just waiting on a couple things from xsdirect and tc bros. Then off to Born free 4

The countdown is on....

In 7 days, just one week, we set off on what should be another great adventure to Born Free 4.

From our tiny little island town of Victoria BC, we will be crossing the Rockies, riding to the Salt Flats of Bonneville, cruising through the deserts of Utah and Arizona only to end up camping on the south rim of the Grand Canyon where we then speed over through the Mohave Desert to LA and Born Free.... And that's just the getting there part....

On the way back up through we cruise through Mailbu up the PCH, then hit San Francisco, hook up with some old friends, then over the Golden Gate Bridge back up north via the 101 home.....

Now that is the definition of fucking awesome.

Getting Tanked

I finally found a 48 tank for my Nightster and too think it was only 3000 miles away tucked in a garage in Queens, how could I miss that?
Thankfully my buddy Deez who lives in Brooklyn was able to procure it for me.  Now i'm just dreaming up how to paint it....

Pumping Iron

Decided that as soon as we get back from the born free 4 ride (provided we do (nervous laugh)), I'm diving headfirst into getting the Ironhead done. Everything is sitting here ready to go, just gotta make the time cause the payoff will be sweet.

The strap

Getting down to the details now, taking off for Born Free 4 in like a week.  Kristen had this belt made up to hold the Queen part of his seat against the sissy bar. Looks clean... I dig it.

Made a couple of these beauties for the shop guys and yeah I get it, it's a rip off of arguably one of the best clubs ever to exist where I happened to see Bad Brains perform just a week before it closed for good and was replaced by a crappy designer clothing store. Anywho, if you like them, let me know, I'll make sure you get one cheap.

The countdown is on..

Only two weeks till we head off for another insane trek to Born Free 4. Slowly getting all my shit together. Kristen is in the same boat, biggest thing for him is getting more ride time on his newly built xs....

New Bars

Got a set of Biltwell Z-Bars for the XS, put them on today,  think they look better than the apes, cut'em really narrow as well.

Perfect cure for that Sunday hangover... The guys at Death Science put this Revenge Ride video together and it is sick... Hoping to use similar elements for our Born Free 4 ride video this year.

So after finally getting the wiring complete we got her out for a quick spin. But not after first having the Wrench make sure the charging system was perfect. Gotta love it when she fires up first kick every time.

Born Free 4 Route

So we are looking at a 13 day ride from up here in the great white north Victoria BC to BF4.

Gonna make our way down through the Salt Flats over to camp in Moab. Then down to the Grand Canyon for a couple nights there just before heading over to LA. Got a couple nights at O'Neill Campground then heading back up the coast home.....

Kristen snapped a few pics of me stealing a couple poses on his ride.... Friday weather is supposed to be hot and this bike needs to get some serious fuel through it before we set out for Born Free 4.
